Plattus was born and raised in Santa Monica, CA on October 8th, 1996. He had a Catholic upbringing - going to Saint Monica Catholic School from kindergarten to senior year of high school.
After high school, Charlie moved up north to Santa Cruz, CA to attend University of California, Santa Cruz. Charlie pursued a bachelor's degree in business management economics and completed it in 2019.
Upbringing & Family:
Like most kids, Charlie was greatly impacted by the standard set by his parents.
Father Andrew Plattus is responsible for most of Charlie's work ethic. A retired US marine, Plattus Sr. started a one-truck delivery company in Los Angeles, CA in the 1980s. Throughout Charlie's childhood - Plattus Sr. modeled intense 60-80 hour work weeks and self-employment which set the standard for Charlie's future endeavors.
Mother Kathleen Plattus was also a critical role model for Charlie. Self-described as a "momma's boy" - watching Mrs. Plattus struggle with cancer for many years and eventually succumb to the awful disease in 2011 had a profound impact on Charlie's outlook and life decisions. Kathleen Plattus was a fierce fighter for many years and stayed stoic within the face of constant uncertainty. Charlie hopes to one day be half as strong as she was.

Stock Market:
Charlie's market story starts in 2006 at the age of 10. He saw his grandfather (who yes, was nicknamed Charlie) pull up the screen on his computer of a stock chart. Charlie would have long discussions with his grandfather about stocks and this eventually caused Charlie to come up with his own strategies and analysis style. Later Charlie would open up his first account and throughout college Charlie was more interested in the stock market, trading, and overall macro analysis than he was in having much of a social life.

In late 2018 Charlie decided to start ZipTrader - a company dedicated to teaching new stock market participants about intuitive and practical strategies for analyzing and attacking the stock market. Later, he focused more on current market, latest stocks, and overall general coverage on what is going on.
